Two Vietnamese Girls (1938)

- Artist: Joseph Inguimberty
- Dimensions: 106 x 81 cm
- Materials: Oil on canvas

- 'Two Vietnamese Girls', painted in 1938, is a typical work that expressed his affection for the landscape and community he found in Vietnam, Indochina. On top of Inguimberty's signature dark green and earthy palette is the romanticised image of two Vietnamese young girls, gracefully dressed in the traditional tunic ‘ao dai’ with neatly done hair combed to a bun and behind them stood a familiar and idyllic scene of Vietnam at that time. This work encapsulates the sentiments of peaceful life, showing his deep connection with the beauty of Vietnamese culture, customs and national identity.
