-The large lacquer piece 'Landscape' was created after cultivating his skills from the Indochina School of Fine Arts. Since graduation, Nguyen Gia Tri continues with traditional lacquer and become one of the pioneering artists for Vietnamese modern art. Bringing in new and revolutionizing ideas to traditional lacquer art, from combining traditional engraving technique with new materials and principles of Western painting structure that was influenced by the French school, Nguyen Gia Tri created a modern lacquer work but full of traditional Vietnamese characteristics.
