Tran Hung Dao fought the battle of Bach Dang

- This work depicts the great Vietnamese general Tran Hung Dao in the historical battle against the Northern invaders on the Bach Dang river. With excellent composition, vivid colors and especially grandiose dimensions, the oil painting by artist Nguyen Kao Thuong had highlighted an important historical milestone of his country. It clearly demonstrates the spirit of determination for victory, also honors and commemorates the noble sacrifices of Vietnamese soldiers in the horrors of the battlefield.

Nguyễn Cao Thương (Kao Thương) (1918-2003)

- Hometown: Long Kien, Cho Moi, An Giang. His real name is Nguyen Van Thuong, then he changed it to Nguyen Cao Thuong (Kao Thuong) to sign the paintings.

- In 1944-1945, after studying at the Indochina School of Fine Arts (Hanoi), he returned to Saigon to participate in the Student movement and ‘Vanguard Youth’ in Saigon until enlistment in September 1945.

- He later held the position of Principal of Dong Nai College of Decorative Arts until his retirement in 1980.
