Battle of Dien Bien Phu (2002)

- Artist: Dương Hướng Minh
- Dimensions: 90 x 120 cm
- Materials: Lacquer

- This lacquer work by Duong Huong Minh has made an important mark not only on the visual aspects or the handling of traditional lacquer techniques but greatly on its historical values, its declaration and reportage properties on the Battle of Dien Bien Phu, the great victory of Vietnam. Duong Huong Minh's painting fully if not perfectly captures the spirit and reflects the pride of Vietnamese soldiers at the climatic moment when the Vietnamese flag is raised high above its enemy's command bunker.
